I took most of 2009 off from tournament poker, since the market was so busy and profitable that I didn’t have time to play much. I really enjoy playing in pro-level tournaments, because poker at those levels is an entirely different game.
I’ve picked up a few things by playing with pros and I will share them with you.
While I am not a professional poker player, I do enjoy the occasional tournament or game. Now, this blog may offend some people, but this is just my honest opinion. Playing poker in real life takes much more skill than playing online, which is why I prefer to play in real life.

When asked by friends or family what I do for money, many give me this look of confusion mixed with shock and even humor when I tell them I play online poker. “Isn’t that like…. Gambling??” they ask me. Well yes, in the literal sense, you are betting your money on an uncertain outcome. But isn’t that what those who trade and invest are doing? Surely investing can’t be gambling can it? I conducted my own little experiment recently at a family wedding.
