The Parallels of Poker and Trading

When asked by friends or family what I do for money, many give me this look of confusion mixed with shock and even humor when I tell them I play online poker. “Isn’t that like…. Gambling??” they ask me. Well yes, in the literal sense, you are betting your money on an uncertain outcome. But isn’t that what those who trade and invest are doing?
